St. Patrick Church News

Much thanks to the committee overseeing our St. Vincent de Paul logo design, as well as, the great feedback we received from parishioners.  We are happy to share with you the final design of our new logo!  Mark your calendars for the celebration of Mass to mark the new Parish on September 22nd, 10:30 a.m. at the Heckart Performing Arts Center at Smith Cotton High School

Progress is being made as we get closer to September 22, 2019.

Liturgy committees for all three churches are working together planning of the Mass at Heckart Performing Arts Center.   From what has been said is sounds like it is going to be a FANTASTIC Mass to attend.  Quite the celebration of the three parishes becoming one.

On July 30, 2019 the Parish Council of St. Vincent de Paul and the chairs of Liturgical/Worship & Spiritual Life Commissions of St. Patrick and Sacred Heart and a member of St John the Evangelist who was asked to represent St John’s for Worship came together to talk about two important topics that need our immediate attention as we prepare for our Liturgical Celebration September 22, 2019 at Heckart Performance Arts Center on the grounds of Smith-Cotton High School for our 10:30am Mass.

First, the beginnings of the St Vincent de Paul logo.  This weekend you will be able to see the proposed logo with an explanation sheet as to how to give us your feedback.  We want your input so everyone has a chance to see it as it is now, offer feedback and comments on how to possibly improve it and have their say before final rendition is created.

Second, Mass Schedule for September 21 and 22:  Our goal is to have as many people as possible attend the 10:30am Mass with Bishop McKnight joining us together as the parish of St. Vincent de Paul.  With that in mind, the weekend Mass schedule for Saturday September 21:  4pm at St. Patrick; Sunday, September 22: 10:30am at the Heckart Performing Arts Center.  A reception will follow.  We are still working on location.

Third, at our Parish Council Meeting, there was preliminary discussion about the September 22 Liturgy.  Fr Dave is point person for planning the Liturgy and Fr Joe is point person for logistics outside of Mass pertaining to the celebration.   As more details about St Vincent de Paul come about, we will keep you posted through the bulletin, Thursday e-mails, Option C with school, Facebook Communities, Mass announcements and any other means we have at our disposal to spread the word.  We will strive to communicate as much as we can as we are able.
