These trips are sponsored by the Daughters of Isabella but EVERYONE is cordially invited and welcome to come along!!

     Plan to come along and join your friends on these great, carefully planned trips brimming with extra fun and outstanding fellowship!       Plenty of small bottles of ice water are provided on each trip.  You are welcome to bring coffee, food, etc. on the motor coach.  Note that our comfortable, luxury motor coach has a restroom on board along with Wi-Fi and other amenities!  There are always many things planned to entertain you as we drive along!  Note that the tip to our professional driver has already been included in the cost of these trips.  Please note that men as well as people of all faiths are most welcome on all of these trips!  They are not planned for ladies only!

     The trip to Peru in 2020 with Fr. Brendan along with others from the diocese in Jefferson City is being carefully planned to include stops at a number of Catholic missions at which Fr. Brendan and others served.

Tours of the outstanding, ancient sites in Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu and many other locations will also be included.


June 22  (Saturday):  “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?”  (fellowship and minor fund raiser trip)!

     This cute musical comedy is a nostalgic and hilarious look at growing up Catholic in the 50s, but you don’t have to be Catholic to be in on the fun!!  We’ll follow a boy and a girl from elementary through high school during that innocent era and remember a little of our own childhood along the way.  The show is funny and wistful and will tickle as well as  touch you while perhaps bringing back memories of your own school days!  We have excellent reserved seats (the best in the house) at the warm and inviting Chestnut Theater in Olathe!  You will love this small, charming theater and you’ll love this joyous and humorous musical!!   

    Our morning stop will be at Crown Center at the popular Function Junction!  Here you’ll first sit at a long, curved granite counter and watch talented gourmet chefs prepare delicious snacks which you get to eat!  Enjoying these yummy treats can be  followed by browsing through this gourmet kitchen gadgets store with your generous, dollars-off coupon!  You may also “test drive” any of the new kitchen items which is great fun!  Everyone will also receive a special goodie bag filled with many nice items from Function Junction selected just for you!  Every group I’ve taken here has just loved their fun and interesting time at Function Junction!  There will also be time to check out a few Crown Center shops.

      Lunch will be on your own at any of the Crown Center restaurants.  Don’t overlook the inexpensive food shops on the lower level.  This promises to be a really nice, fun day and we hope you can join us!

     The bus will leave the Marshall Jct. commuter lot at 7 a.m., Sedalia’s Thompson Hills shopping center at 8 a.m., Casey’s in LaMonte at 8:15 a.m. and Warrensburg next to I-Hop at 8:30 a.m.   We should be back to Sedalia around 5 p.m.

August 28 (Wednesday):  “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!”  (fellowship and fundraising trip)!

      Here’s a fabulous Broadway musical we’ll get to enjoy at the New Dinner Theater in Overland Park, Kansas!

      “Joseph” is based on the Coat of Many Colors story from the Bible’s Book of Genesis.  It’s an upbeat musical filled with a cornucopia of musical styles.  From country-western to calypso to rock ‘n’ roll, this Old Testament tale is both timely and timeless!  It has a family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music! 

     “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is a fabulous musical not to be missed and keep in mind that it was composed by the gifted Andrew Lloyd Webber who also composed Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats and other smash hits for Broadway!!  You will love this show!  Critics from the Chicago Times wrote “The audience was on their feet applauding, cheering and stomping in a loud ovation which threatened to raise the roof!!” 

     Our morning stop will be an impressive and inspiring stop at the new Museum of Deaf History, Arts and Culture, located in Olathe.  Our tour here will begin with a short video and we’ll learn why they say “deafness isn’t a disability but instead is a different ability”.  Docents will help us explore what it means to be deaf in America and we’ll learn about the history and outstanding accomplishments of many deaf citizens.  At the museum you will see one of the most magnificent collections of deaf memorabilia and artifacts in the United States!  Many well-known people from artists to athletes have accomplished great things in spirt of being partly or totally deaf.  Today you will learn all about them and much more.  This will truly be an unforgettable stop that will be both impressive and inspirational!

October 12 & 13 (Saturday & Sunday):  “A Visit to the Dominican Sisters of Peace in Great Bend, Kansas and MUCH MORE with our very own Sister Gerke!”

     Everyone has been looking forward to this very special overnight trip to Victoria and Great Bend, Kansas ever since Sister Carol Gerke suggested it!  Since Sister Gerke spent several years here we are fortunate to have her along to tell us about her time here as a member of this dedicated Order and the dedicated outreach that the Sisters accomplish. We will also show a brief video on the bus about the Dominican Sisters of Peace.

     Following our mid-morning rest stop we’ll arrive in Victoria and sit down to a delicious luncheon prepared by the St. Fidelis Daughters of Isabella Circle #364!  They are delighted to prepare a meal for us and are anxious to meet all of us

Missouri Daughters from Sedalia Circle #310!  Of course, husbands are also welcome on this trip!

     After lunch we will begin with a tour of the huge Basilica of St. Fidelis, often called the Cathedral of the Plains.  Here you will see its 48 stunning stained glass windows and its beautiful Romanesque architectural features with Austrian, Italian and German art and décor.  At the time of its dedication in 1911, it was the largest church west of the Mississippi River!  The church is 220 feet long, 110 feet wide at the transepts and its ceiling is 44 feet high.  The towers are 141 feet tall.  The Basilica of St. Fidelis is a minor basilica and the first basilica in Kansas.      

     Next we’ll arrive in Great Bend at the Dominican Sisters of Peace where we’ll be welcomed by the Sisters and taken on a tour of the facility.  We’ll check into our rooms in the Motherhouse, gather for evening prayers and sit down to an included dinner.  Mass will follow and then an evening to relax and visit with the Sisters and each other.

     In the morning we’ll have an included breakfast and leave for a brief, narrated tour of Great Bend.  Our narrated tour will include seeing Cheyenne Bottoms, the B-29 Memorial and more.  We’ll learn about the great overland trails that passed through Great Bend, 1800s army forts, the pioneers, the settlers and the Indians who lived in the area.

     Next a very interesting and fun stop will be at the Heartland Farm which is a ministry of the Dominican Sisters and where you’ll meet a large herd of alpacas along with many birds, see an organic garden and more!  Our tour here, shopping in the Heartland Farm store and our included sack lunches prepared by the Sisters will be enjoyed by all before it is time to leave for home.  A fun rest stop will include sampling at a winery along I-70 on the way to Missouri.  We’ll arrive back in Sedalia around dinner time.

     ALL faiths are welcome to come along on this inspirational and interesting trip offering great fellowship, inspiration and fun!  Please note that men are most welcome on this trip and several have already planned to come along.  .          

     We’ll leave the Marshall Jct. commuter lot at 5:30 a.m., the Sedalia Thompson Hills shopping center at 6:30 a.m. and include rest stops along the way.  A light breakfast will be served on board when we leave Sedalia.  

INCLUDED:  everything described above, transportation by luxury motor coach, professional driver, tip to our driver, overnight lodging, all fees and admissions, lunch and dinner the first day AND breakfast and lunch the second day, snacks and a notebook for each person with a fully detailed schedule plus booklets and a map.

2020........a look ahead!

July 1 (Wed.): “Million Dollar Quartet” at the New Dinner Theater in Overland Park, KS.  (fund raising trip)

     We have the VERY BEST seats in the house to enjoy this smash hit musical!!  A fabulous gourmet lunch begins our time here!  Our morning stop before arriving at the theater is hopefully Dr. Pearson playing for us at the Cathedral Basilica and a tour of this beautiful building in KC!  If not, there are plenty of other things we can stop and see.


Date not set.  “Grotto of the Redemption and more”:  So many people have asked me about going to the Shrine of the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend, Iowa!  This incredible grotto is the largest in the world and in fact, covers one whole city block!  The local priest will welcome us and tell us about the grotto.  Hopefully we can also celebrate Mass at the church located next to the grotto.  In addition we’ll have dinner with some of the local Knights of Columbus at the newly remodeled Knights Hall in nearby Algona and enjoy some evening entertainment before turning in. 

    Also in Algona we’ll tour the German POW Museum and see where over 5,000 were detained.  A special stop will be seeing the huge, hand carved wood nativity the Germans made for the citizens of Algona before they left after the war.  This and more will make this trip a very special and memorable one!  Meals and overnight lodging will be included.
