March for Life, Washington, DC
Catholics from Central and Northern Missouri are invited to join thousands of others in promoting the sanctity of every human life by attending the annual “March for Life” in Washington, DC, Wednesday, Jan. 16 through Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019. On Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, after the 11 a.m. Mass there will be a mandatory meeting in the Cathedral Undercroft for newcomers to the March for Life. NEW Nov. 10: Women’s Pro-life Mini Conference
The Women’s Pro-life Mini Conference will be held Nov. 10 at St Andrew, 400 St Andrew Dr, Holts Summit. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with pastries and coffee. The program is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and includes sessions on sidewalk advocacy, self-care, practical ways to empower single mothers, how do talk with those who disagree with you, and a presentation by Cheryl Sullenger, vice president of Operation Rescue, on her experiences covering the Gosnell trial. Nov. 10: Young Adult Day of Reflection
Withdraw from the world to strengthen your spiritual life by attending a Sursum Corda Day Retreat on Nov. 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Brendan Parish, 615 S. Washington St., Mexico. The retreat includes Mass in the Extraordinary Form, spiritual conferences by Canons of the Institute of Christ the King, as well as opportunities for silence, meditation, and confessions. After the retreat concludes, there will also be time for socialization with fellow Catholic young adults (18-35). There is no registration fee for the event.
